Bio

Kené Umeasiegbu is Tesco’s Responsible Sourcing Director, leading the company’s agenda on human rights, sustainable packaging and food waste reduction. He was at various times, Tesco’s Campaigns Director and Head of Environment, in which roles he: led the company’s advocacy and stakeholder engagement on health and environmental sustainability, established Tesco’s sustainability innovation agenda, led the company’s switch to 100% renewable electricity and roll-out of electric vehicle charging points. Prior to Tesco, he worked at Cadbury and The Carbon Trust.

Kené is a trustee of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and is the recipient of the 2022 Black British Business Person of the Year award in recognition of his contribution to corporate sustainability.
