GET INVOLVED

OUR PROGRAMMES

We deliver programmes that turn anger into action, supporting young people to build their political identity, organise, and lead change on the most pressing issues of our times.

We bring together young people and local communities in the heart of Brixton, continuously rooting our work in community and solidarity.

WELCOME TO MARHABA SPACE!

Marhaba Space will be an open access space for young people aged 13-25 living in Lambeth run out of our Vining Street Hub every Thursday! It will be a brilliant space which upholds all of our values and ideals - and one that is open consistently and free to use for all young people, no questions asked

MARHABA SPACE

04

WHY DOES MARHABA SPACE EXIST?

Spaces where young people meet, learn, grow, organise, agitate, and dream together are being pushed out of existence, and while we are doing our best to fight that on a structural level as an organisation, the pressing needs with this cost of living crisis have made it clear we need and should do more.

WHO CAN COME?

All young people aged 13-25 and who live in Lambeth are welcome to drop by

between 12 PM - 6PM!

WHAT WILL BE AVAILABLE THERE?

We will keep the space free for the young people to shape as they see fit - through conversations with us and with each other. The young people who join us will be able to do their homework, hang out with friends or get to know people, access our social justice library, listen to music, do art, learn more about organising from us, or simply just exist in a space that is warm, cosy, welcoming, and sees them for the brilliant people they are.

We will make sure there is food at every session - sandwiches the young people can make for themselves, fruit, and hot drinks to have.

Nothing About Us Without Us

At TAA, young people are not just participants in our programmes, they shape them. From designing leadership pathways to deciding how we respond to the world around us, members take an active role in setting direction.

Our cyclical leadership model ensures decisions are made with, not for, young people, so that every step we take reflects their vision for justice and change.

Our Approach to Co-Creation

We believe the most powerful change comes when those most impacted by injustice shape the solutions.

Co-creation at TAA means young people leading alongside staff and partners, building programmes and campaigns rooted in justice, solidarity, and shared learning.

It’s not just about inclusion, but about transforming how power is held and decisions are made.

JUST US

Every movement needs a home. Just Us is our open-access space for 14–24 year olds to rest, connect and dream together. From revision sessions to nature walks to just being in community, this is where culture is built and the first sparks of organising take root.

IGNITE

02

Ignite is the starting point for becoming a TAA Member — a two-day induction that breaks down barriers to political education and action.

Here, young people step into the basics of organising, explore the issues they care about, and find their place in the movement. From there, the journey only grows as they build their own political identity.

LEADERSHIP BINGO

Movements need leaders at every level. Leadership Bingo is our choose-your-own-adventure path to organising and leadership development.

Rooted in Power Within, Power With, Power To, members build the skills they want, from running winning campaigns to stepping into responsive action when the world demands it.

It’s how we grow leaders ready to address the most pressing issues of our time.

CMDP

The Changemaker Development Programme (CMDP) is a leadership development training programme, which recruits and trains graduates of our programmes, to be able to deliver our programmatic offers to future cohorts.

Changemakers are trained over 6 months, and roughly 145 hours in youth work and facilitation skills. Split across 8 ‘hats’ or skill areas, ranging from pastoral care to group dynamics and educator, the programme focuses on the skills, leadership styles and approaches to doing youth work and facilitating complex social justice content.

At the heart of the programme is the principle of cyclical leadership wherein Changemakers have the opportunity to deliver the same programmes they were participants on, and inversely, participants are being led by those who have experiential knowledge of these programmes.
